There are even weapons made specifically for them that combine traditional paladin vibes with a more savage / tribal look, like Dawnbreaker and Goblet of Glittering Favor from BoD. Lastly their looks - all the gold tattoos and other appearance options go very well with a paladin’s aesthetic. An finally, they fit just fine on horses if you’d rather use the class hall mount or glyph a charger for a bit. And it just looks cool riding a gold-plated triceratops into battle anyway. Even the glider is handy (especially since we’re about to lose flying again) as a way to jump off big cliffs and survive without using up one of your immunities.Īnd second is their divine steed - unlike the Tauren and their Sunwalker Kodo, the Crusader’s Direhorn can fit through most doorways. And the other ZT racials are solid too - I usually stay in Pa’ku most of the time, but on progression tanking picking up Krag’wa or Bwonsamdi for the week are actually pretty decent. The time I downed H Vexiona was due to me popping this combo in phase 3 when she was at 2%. Using that combo I’ve been able to solo elite quests, pull massive amounts of mobs that many of my alts have struggled with, and even survive in dungeons or raids after my healer has gone down. Note that this combo is a 100% heal that (a) usable in any spec, (b) has a shorter cooldown than Lay on Hands, and © allows you to hold onto your Lay on Hands to either full-heal someone else, or even use it on yourself later once Forebearance is up. Regeneratin’ is a full-heal that normally can’t be used in combat, but a ZT paladin can combo it with Divine Shield to keep it from being broken even while something is actively hitting you. First their racials - paladin is one of the few classes that can optimally use all of them. In terms of gameplay they’re amazing too. Honestly, every paladin mog looks great on them because they stand so upright. Or you can go for a darker paladin who reveres a loa like Bwonsamdi (he’s the new Loa of Kings, after all - thanks Rastakhan!) or even Hakkar, which allows me to get some thematic use out of those darker plate transmogs with bones and skulls on them, like Mythic BoD and LFR Nighthold. Your character can easily be a more traditional “Holy Light” paladin by revering a loa like Shirvallah, Torcali, or the late Rezan. In terms of lore/flavor they’re fantastic. Since you ask - I can only speak for PvE, but ZT has been the best race for paladin I’ve ever played. The male human paladin meme always get to me and I kept thinking if it would be refreshing to take my character serious if, you know, he wasn’t one, I am just a bit afraid of, you know, making the wrong call there. I don’t know, it’s not even the race or anything that keeps bringing me back to this character, maybe you are right and it wouldn’t be the same, but what always got me coming back isn’t what he is but what I have gotten on him, if that makes any sense.Īll my progress is here, my highest /played, most collected transmogs and so on, the only thing I would realistically lose is my quest progress in older zones, though if they one day include Chromie Time for everyone than that wouldn’t even be a problem to me since I wouldn’t mind doing the same zones but on the Horde’s side. …But keep playing a damned Zandalari as an alt at least, and possibly a new main. ![]() He won’t be the same as a different race. If you have sentimental value, leave your old main as he is. But even more important than that, when it comes to the lore, Horde has always been so interesting, many people joke about Thrall, but his pre-cata version was so damn good, his story of freeing the Orcs and bringing about a new age for the Horde and so on, it’s really good.Īnyways, TL DR - Always have been a Alliance player, human Paladin and I’ve been thinking abou race changing to Zandalari and see how I adapt to the Horde but I am having a hard time making up my mind. ![]() But I don’t know, overall, Zandalari look much better and have(mostly) better animations, the only one that I have a problem with is their Night Elf spinny boi animation when they do a melee spell, this animation has always been a bit… Stupid. I’ve always been Alliance, particularly human, basically because Tirion Fordring was my model of a Paladin, if you catch my meaning, my character have always been inspired on him. ![]() I am almost reaching level 50 and unlocking the heritage armor and each time I keep asking myself… Should I just try out Horde for one xpac? So, with the current leveling system I’ve been leveling a Zandalari and man, I gotta say, I love this race, probably the best looking Horde Paladin race(No offense Blood Elves, but your animations makes me think of squares).
